Fool's Gambit is an energetic young mixed cotswold morris side performing dances in the Fieldtown and Bledington traditions, as well as some 'what we made up'. Our style combines youthful exuberance and individual panache with precision and cohesion. Given that our members are scattered across the country, from Bath to Durham and London to Abergavenny, we are based wherever we happen to find ourselves at any given moment. Formed unofficially at Sidmouth in August 2010, we became an official team in our own minds in December 2010, though Morris Federation membership was only gained in April 2011.
Our striking kit and dance style, during our first ever dance out with Hammersmith Morris during their Mayday weekend, gained us such compliments as:

"Good kit, Good dancing, Good music, shame about the name :p"
"You guys look like you've been going for years! We're amazed this is your first dance out."
"Nice to see some pert bottoms for a change"

Having proven with our first dance out that we can hold our own for 3 days of hard dancing while maintaining a standard, we are now on the hunt for new opportunities to get ourselves out there and show people what we can do!
